A Flyers farewell for Kel’s final frolic on Lake BG

Flyers fitness coach Kel Bryant is calling it a day in Canberra and moving south - way south, to Stanley, Tasmania.

For what seems like forever, Kel has been keeping the Flyers fit at his sessions at Merici College gym and the Yacht Club.

After way too long keeping Canberra’s surgeons busy, Kel had his last hit out with the Flyers today.

President Bronwen North thanked Kel ‘you’re only cheating yourself’ Bryant for his years of support on and off the water and presented him with a gift from the Flyers.

Plans are already on the table for a Dragon Flyers pre-season camp by the sea at Kel’s new home in Stanley (which is nestled beside The Nut, TripAdvisor’s number one of the Top 15 Things to do in Stanley).

Fresh from Sydney’s City2Surf, six Flyers and supporter Dale Hughes took on the 10 kilometre distance in brilliant sunshine.

‘Dragon boating demands a mix of muscular strength and cardio fitness,’ Flyers Head Coach, Robyne Kellett said.

‘We head to the gym to stay strong year-round, and in the off season the City Run Series is a great way to keep on top of our cardio fitness.

‘The bonus is we take the Flyers, and our sport, to the thousands who line up in the challenge,’ she added.
