The 2016-17 season was dubbed ‘The Year of the Pidgeon’ at the 2017 Dragon Flyers Presentation Dinner at the Hellenic Club last night.
The hard work, dedication and sportsmanship of Sue Pidgeon was recognised and rewarded when she was presented with three Flyers awards.
Sue was voted Club Person of the Year by the Dragon Flyers committee, the winner of the coaching team’s Achievement in Performance Award for her consistently high performance over many years in the sport and named the 2017 Flyers’ Flyer, awarded by the membership.
There were smiles, laughter, music and dancing and the recognition of achievement and excellence by some hard working and inspirational Flyers.
In 2017, it’s congratulations and well done to:

‘The Flyers know how to achieve at the highest level and have fun. I’ve had some amazing opportunities to race at national and international level over the years. But this year was especially exciting for me,’ Sue said.
‘This year at Nationals, the Flyers won a medal in every event they entered. The gold in the Senior B women 500 metres was very special.
‘I’m overwhelmed to be given these awards. Thank you so much Flyers!’ Sue added.
